this is a track that i did while enrolled in the electronic composition section of the music department at the university of iowa. i really know nothing of standard composition construction and organization. but, when it came to messing around with programs, i was all game. and so, for this, i sampled a pink casio keyboard, a rhythm ace type drum machine and another drum machine/keyboard and then tweaked it all in max/msp by building my own drum machine which would mess with the frequencies and lengths of samples. make sure to adjust your computer's volume (as this mp3 player does not have a volume control).
wow, blogger, google, et al. make it way too difficult to embed mp3s into blogs. the reason as to why blogger does not have a built in function for this is beyond me. i suppose they are afraid people will go crazy uploading songs w/o any regard for copyright law. blogger will, however, allow you to upload video... so people are uploading mp3s as videos (.mov files) sans images.

spring break over. dang. pontiac vibe.
well, i've been on spring break which means i haven't done much of anything. we did find a car (got a used pontiac vibe after finding out that it has a toyota engine in it and is basically a toyota matrix) and i've been familiarizing myself with frame shop stuff all week long. now, this next week brings on more classes leading out to summer. i have no summer classes lined up as they have all been filled here at the university. (the car in the post is someone else's i found online. ours is a dark blue.)
